Aulus Coliving
Your new home base in the French Pyrenees
If you’re a nomad or a remote worker, if you like to live with other people, and want to find a place you can come and then come back, then keep reading!
Opening date
August 1st, 2026. You can now book your stay! (see the form below)
Location
Aulus-les-Bains (2h south of Toulouse).
You get to live in a small village surrounded by mountains. This place is a paradise for nature lovers. If you like to wake up with the sound of birds and breathe fresh mountain air, you might enjoy it here.
Even if it sounds quite remote, it’s actually quite easy to get to the coliving: from Toulouse, with just one train + one bus, you can arrive at the coliving, no car needed (more info in the FAQ later).
And before going any further, yes, we do have good Internet (fiber optic).
The community
Even though the Internet is important so you can work and do the occasional Instagram scrolling, we have something even better: a strong focus on building a stable and long-lasting community.
We share 4 family dinners per week. This is a great time to connect over a meal, talk about your day, share and hear stories. In France it’s a national sport: here we don’t eat to live: we live to eat, and we keep talking about food.
Once per week, we also sit together for the family meeting, when we plan activities together for the week. For example a hike, ski trip, restaurant, board game night, but it could be anything! You can propose any activity or skillshare you want, and we’ll help you organize it. We want you to be a part of the community, and we love when someone takes an initiative.
We strive to find a good balance between having enough personal time, and living together in a way that everyone can feel safe and grow, share, learn, and have fun.
What’s in the coliving?
There are currently 9 rooms, for a 10-15 person capacity. Not overcrowded, perfect for a cosy family feeling. All the rooms are ensuite, so you’ll have your own private bathroom.
Common spaces include a:
Kitchen
Big dining/all purpose room
Living room
2 co-workings (one silent and one non-silent)
Garden
1 terrace and 2 balconies where you can work/workout, or just enjoy the view.
Outside of the coliving, within a 3 minute walk, you can find a:
Small supermarket
Shop with local products (with bread and cheese, of course)
3 restaurants + a café,
Spa with thermal baths
Small art gallery
Tree climbing park
Several hiking trail starts
A ski station (20 minutes drive, also accessible by bus in the winter)
And coming back to the focus on community: this is not about just renting a room, it’s about joining a community of people, creating memories together, and building long lasting friendships.

FAQ
How to get to Aulus Coliving
If you have a car, you will find the instructions on Google Maps. If you come by train/plane/bus, the best option is usually to get to Toulouse first. From Toulouse, you can get a train + bus directly to Aulus, and then you just have to walk for 2 minutes to the coliving. We’ll provide further information when you book.
I don’t have a car, is it a problem?
Absolutely not! As you can see already, you can get here with public transport. Also, there are several shops/restaurants/activities directly accessible by foot. There are also several buses to go to the next big town. And if there are more people with cars you can also tag along.
How fast is the Internet and can I get my work done?
We have 1GB fiber optic (+ backup) in the house. With Wi-Fi, you will get a solid 150-500mbps depending on your device and where you are in the house.
There are plenty of spaces to work from, including a silent coworking space. Your room also has a desk if you want to take private calls.
How many people stay in the coliving?
At full capacity there will be 10-15 people staying. We do not want to have a too big group to keep a good balance in the long term.
What is included with the price I pay?
What you pay covers:
Private access to your room
Ensuite bathroom (unless in the shared bed room)
Access to all shared spaces and community events
All utility bills (electricity, gas, water, internet)
Weekly cleaning
Tea and coffee
Access to the coliving washing machine (additional fee of 2€/load, that’s the only thing you will pay extra).
What’s the payment and cancellation policy?
After you send a request and get accepted, we will ask you to pay for the first month (wire transfer). Then, when you’re here, you pay month by month at the beginning of each month.
If you cancel your stay before arriving (up to 30 days before), you will get this money back as a deposit for your next stay (within 24 months max).
If you cancel your stay less than 30 days before arriving, you lose the first month, as it makes it more complicated for us and we may not be able to find someone else to stay with such a short notice.
How do the shared dinners work?
Monday to Thursday, we organize family dinners. We split the group in 4 teams, and each team cooks one day. For this we plan a budget of 5€/person/dinner to keep things reasonable. Then, you are in charge of your own food/cooking.
Do I need to speak French in Aulus?
No, the official language in the coliving is English, and you can easily get along in the village and around with English and just a few badly pronounced French words.
Is it “pain au chocolat” or “chocolatine”?
If you have studied a bit of French, you might have learned that we have one pastry called pain au chocolat (literally translated as chocolate bread). Well, here as we are in the south of France, you can forget everything you’ve ever learned. People here call it a chocolatine (why, you might ask me? Well I have no idea). If you have one thing to learn/unlearn before you arrive here, this is it.
Are kids allowed
No, we don’t accept anybody under 18 years old.
Are pets allowed
Unfortunately the place is not suitable for pets at the moment.
Are you looking for volunteers?
Yes, if you want to be a volunteer at Aulus Coliving, you can stay without paying, in exchange of a 15-20h workweek (flexible schedule). In this case you will be in a shared bed room (with just one other person). Just use the form above and precise that you are looking for a volunteer position.
Any other question, let us know with the form above!

Who’s behind Aulus Coliving?
Hey, I’m Edouard! I discovered the world of colivings 5 years ago while I was starting a more nomadic life and setting up an online business. And the experience was amazing!
I made great friendships along the way and discovered so many cool places. This journey was so inspiring that I’ve decided to create my own coliving, and to share this with you.
